William “Bill” Scott entered his second year at the helm of Thomas College’s Men’s Lacrosse team for the 2023-2024 season. Coach Scott has an extensive and impressive coaching resume spanning 40 years and brings a fresh perspective to what he describes as a “program on the rise”.

Before leading the Terriers, he was the Associate Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Anna Maria College. Prior to this, he coached at Longmeadow High School, Chicopee High School, Chicopee Comp High School, Agawam High School, and Emerson College. In 2015, Coach Scott was selected as head coach for the West Regional lacrosse team at the Massachusetts Baystate Summer Games. His West teams would go on to win four consecutive gold medals, did not lose a game in 25 contests, and outscored their opponents by an average of 19-4 against many of the best players in the state.

Coach Scott believes developing character is the key to achieving the most from players and teams. His coaching philosophy emphasizes honoring the traditions and spirit of the game. Whether performing well in the classroom, competing hard on the field, or enjoying each other’s company during a fun team outing, Coach Scott aims to build long-lasting friendships amongst the team and prepare student-athletes for a great future.

In addition to his coaching experience, Coach Scott served as a Board Member and Western Massachusetts Chapter Officer for US Lacrosse, and on the Longmeadow Youth Lacrosse Association’s Board of Directors.

Coach Scott is a graduate of Springfield College. He and his wife, Krista, have been married for thirty-two years. They have two sons and two dogs, and currently reside in Rockport, ME.
